The Finch-Henry Job Corps Center, which is located in Batesville, Miss., has an enrollment of 300 students. With three residence halls on campus, Finch-Henry Job Corps Center spans 28 acres and has the feel of a small community college.

Finch-Henry Job Corps Center offers training and education in the following career technical areas:

  • Material & Distribution Operations
  • Office Assistant

  • Welding

Partnerships with local employers give students real-world experience in the career technical areas of their choice. The center also partners with Northwest Mississippi Community College to offer training and education opportunities.

On campus, students are able to participate in a variety of recreational activities, including sports such as basketball and softball and activities like arts and crafts. Students have the opportunity to participate in mentoring and peer counseling programs, or in residence hall leadership.

Gulfport Job Corps Center in Gulfport, Mississippi, reopened in April 2010 after sustaining damage during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The Gulfport Job Corps Center’s current restart-up capacity is 136 students; 68 residential students and 68 non-residential students.

Gulfport Job Corps Center offers training and education in the following career technical areas:>/h4>

  • Medical Office Support
  • Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide

Partnerships with local employers give Gulfport Job Corps Center students real-world experience in the career technical areas of their choice. Students have the opportunity to participate in recreational activities including basketball and billiards. Leadership opportunities are available through the center’s student government association and the residence hall leadership programs.
