Students have the opportunity to participate in arts and crafts programs and intramural sports. They can gain leadership experience through the center’s ambassador and mentor programs or as a participant in residence hall leadership.

Shreveport Job Corps Center in Shreveport, La., has an enrollment of 350 students. The center has six residence halls, each equipped with a computer lab. Shreveport Job Corps Center offers training and education in the following career technical areas:

Located in Excelsior Springs, Mo., Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center has an enrollment of 495 students and three residence halls on campus. In addition, the center has a satellite campus in Kansas City that serves 120 students.

Partnerships with local employers give Excelsior Springs Job Corps Center students on-hands real-world experience. In addition, students may continue their education through a partnership with a local community college.
On-campus activities include arts and crafts, billiards, choir, and athletics such as basketball, flag football, softball, volleyball, and weightlifting. Leadership opportunities are available as a dorm, orientation, recreation or teachers’ aides, safety cadets, unit representatives, or naval Junior ROTC.
Alabama

In Alabama, MINACT, Inc. operates the Montgomery Job Corps Center with Education and Training Resources, serving as the prime contractor. At the Montgomery Job Corps Center, we support the Job Corps program’s mission to teach eligible young people the skills they need to become employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education.
Montgomery Job Corps Center offers training and education in the following career technical areas:

- Material Handling and Distribution Operations.

Life for students on campus includes participating in recreational activities, including art classes, billiards, clubs, dances, and athletics such as baseball, basketball, bowling, flag football, and softball. Leadership opportunities are available through the center’s ambassador and residence hall leadership programs.
North Dakota

Located in Minot, N.D., MINACT, Inc. operates the Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center with Jackson Pierce Public Affairs Inc., serving as the prime contractor. The Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center offers its 250 students career technical, academic, and social skills training to prepare for a successful career. The campus has three residence halls, including a single-parent residence hall and an on-site childcare facility. Quentin N. Burdick Job Corps Center offers training and education in the following career technical areas:

- Culinary Arts
- Facilities Maintenance

- Medical Office Support
- Office Assistant

Partnerships with local employers provide students with real-world experience in the career technical areas of their choice. Advanced education is available through collaboration with Minot State University.
On-campus recreational activities include arts and crafts and athletics such as baseball, sand volleyball, soccer, and swimming. In addition, students can participate in the center’s mentoring program, various clubs, and residence hall leadership.
Tennessee
Center Director: Rose Walker-Cook
MINACT, Inc. operates the Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center with Education and Training Resources, serving as the prime contractor. The Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center offers students a college-like setting in a residential area of Memphis. The center, which has one residence hall on campus, has an enrollment of 312 students. Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center also has an on-center childcare facility.

Dr. Benjamin L. Hooks Job Corps Center has partnerships with local employers to give students real-life work experience. Students can further their education through the center’s partnerships with Southwest Tennessee Community College and the Tennessee Technology Center.
Students can participate in various activities on campus, including arts and crafts and athletics such as basketball, flag football, softball, and tennis. Students may participate in the classroom ambassador program or become recreation or residence hall leaders.
